Kingston, Jamaica:- The Wisynco Group is pleased about the successful staging of this years’ Bigga Jamaica Oaks Race Day and the Bigga High Achievers Award Ceremony, which was held on Saturday April 24 at the Caymans Race Track in St Catherine.

With a $3-million dollar purse, and an array of successful accomplished women to be honoured by the Jamaican soft drink brand, the day proved to be much more than a day for watching the ponies. Joffia Johnson-Bell, Bigga’s Brand Development Executive said that the she was ecstatic about the day’s events.

“We are looking for innovative and out-of-the box ways to reach our consumers. Our partnership with the Oaks Day is one of those ways. We really look forward to this event every year, and it really gives us the contact with our market and our people,” Johnson-Bell said.
Kimberly Lawson, Wisynco’s manager of Public Relations, Sponsorship and Events, also commented on the event saying that it was nothing short of “exciting”. She beamed with pride as she spoke of the day, and the women Bigga honoured with the annual High Achievers award.
“We’ve been speaking about the award for some time now, but Bigga and Wisynco by extension are extremely proud of these women and the strides they make in their fields. We are also very happy that we could present these women to the country at large on a platform such as this.”

The women Lawson speaks of are Andrea Wright, Andrea Coy, Dahlia Harris, Tara Playfair-Scott, Tina Myers-Matalon, Kimala Bennett, Sharon Schroeter, Senator Marlene Malahoo-Forte, Paula Anne Porter Jones and Dr Carolyn Gomes. They were presented with trophies at the Caymanas Race Track yesterday as part of the festivities of the annual day.

Also apart of the festivities included performances by dancehall dynamos Tifa and QQ, under the watchful guise of emcee Khadine ‘Miss Kitty’ Hylton. The annual event has been sponsored by Bigga Jamaica for three years, and has been augmented with the Bigga High Achievers Award and an after-races concert.
